Construction started of new KONI building

OUD-BEIJERLAND, The Netherlands, July 15th, 2015 – Just 6 months after a fire last January, the construction for a new office building for KONI has begun today.

Last January, the New Year started in a challenging way for KONI in the Netherlands, when they suffered a fire which destroyed a large part of the office buildings. Luckily, the fire did not reach the production area, which did have water damage unfortunately. The team showed great resilience in January, with having the production up and running again in just 6 days after the fire.

Now, just 6 months after the event, the construction of the new building has started and KONI again proves to be a flexible, resilient company.

Mauro Salini, Director of the KONI Group and Jeroen den Haan, Plant Manager KONI Oud-Beijerland, were present when the first pole for the constructions hit the ground today.

Mauro Salini comments: ‘We are very pleased to start with the construction of the new building. All people involved worked extremely hard to get this started as soon as possible. We aim to open the new building before Christmas this year, which is challenging, but the last year has proven that KONI is capable of managing great challenges.’
